Michigan Marijuana Tours was created by the founders of The Cake House Battle Creek, one of Southwest Michigan’s most recognized cannabis retail brands. Built from years of experience working alongside Michigan cultivators, processors, and retailers, the tours were designed to give guests a behind-the-scenes look at the people, places, and processes that shape the state’s cannabis industry.
Through guided experiences with licensed Michigan cannabis operators, guests have the opportunity to visit cultivation facilities, meet the growers behind the brands, and learn how cannabis moves from seed to shelf. As Michigan Marijuana Tours continues to grow, we plan to expand our partnerships and introduce guests to a wider range of cultivation environments across the state. This will include visits to additional indoor facilities as well as outdoor cannabis farms during the summer season, offering a unique look at how different growing methods shape the final product.
By working with a diverse group of licensed cultivators, our tours aim to showcase the innovation, craftsmanship, and expertise driving Michigan’s cannabis industry forward.
Michigan Roots
Michigan Marijuana Tours was inspired by a simple idea that came from inside the industry itself.
Before the tours ever existed, the team at The Cake House Battle Creek took a field trip to visit Growing Pains, one of Michigan’s standout cultivation facilities. What started as a staff learning experience quickly turned into something bigger. Watching budtenders walk through the grow, ask questions, smell the plants, and see how the product is actually produced made one thing clear — customers would love this experience too.
That visit sparked the idea for Michigan Marijuana Tours: creating opportunities for people to step beyond the dispensary and see the cultivation process up close.
Many of the first images used to launch the company actually came from that original visit. Special thanks to Liz and Shayla, whose photos helped capture the moment that inspired the tours and helped bring the concept to life.
Born and built in Southwest Michigan, the tours reflect a belief that has guided this project from the beginning: the more people understand cannabis, the more the stigma disappears.
