Inside the First Michigan Marijuana Tours 420 Weekend

Updated: May 15

Michigan cannabis culture took a major step forward this 420 weekend as Michigan Marijuana Tours officially launched its first series of cannabis cultivation experiences in partnership with Growing Pains and The Cake House.

Over the course of three days, Michigan Marijuana Tours welcomed 78 guests across 6 guided cultivation tours, giving cannabis enthusiasts, curious consumers, and industry supporters a rare behind-the-scenes look inside a licensed cannabis cultivation facility.

For many guests, it was their first time ever stepping inside a real cannabis grow.

And for the Michigan Marijuana Tours team, it marked the beginning of something much bigger.

A New Kind of Michigan Cannabis Experience

The 420 kickoff tours were designed to go beyond the traditional dispensary experience.

Guests departed from The Cake House Battle Creek aboard the Michigan Marijuana Tours bus before heading to the Growing Pains cultivation facility for an immersive educational cannabis experience.

Throughout the weekend, guests had the opportunity to:

  • Tour licensed cultivation spaces

  • Learn about cannabis genetics and cultivation methods

  • Explore post-harvest and drying processes

  • Hear directly from cannabis operators and cultivators

  • Experience the operational side of Michigan’s cannabis industry

The tours brought together people from all walks of life — longtime cannabis enthusiasts, curious newcomers, industry supporters, and visitors simply interested in learning more about legal cannabis cultivation in Michigan.

Hosted by Industry Operators

The transportation and hospitality portion of the tours was hosted by Char of Michigan Marijuana Tours and The Cake House, who guided guests throughout the experience and shared the vision behind cannabis tourism in Michigan.

Once guests arrived at Growing Pains, Seth Miller, Tom Farrell, and their team hosted the cultivation experience, offering insight into the processes, passion, and operational detail involved in producing premium cannabis at scale.

For many attendees, hearing directly from the people behind the cultivation facility was one of the most memorable parts of the experience.

The tours created opportunities for guests to ask questions, connect with operators, and better understand the work that happens behind the scenes of legal cannabis production.

More Than a Tour

What made the weekend especially meaningful was the collaboration behind it.

Michigan Marijuana Tours exists because of partnerships between operators who believe cannabis culture can evolve beyond traditional retail experiences.

The partnership between The Cake House and Growing Pains helped create a unique opportunity for consumers to safely and responsibly engage with the cannabis industry in a new way — through education, access, hospitality, and community.

As cannabis tourism continues to grow nationally, experiences like these are helping position Michigan as one of the most exciting cannabis destinations in the country.

Looking Ahead to Summer 2026

Following the success of the 420 kickoff weekend, the Michigan Marijuana Tours team is excited to continue expanding experiences throughout Summer 2026.

Upcoming tours will continue to provide guests with immersive behind-the-scenes access to Michigan cannabis cultivation and processing facilities while highlighting the operators, brands, and stories helping shape the industry.

The Beginning of Michigan Cannabis Tourism

The first Michigan Marijuana Tours weekend proved something important:

Cannabis consumers are looking for more than products — they’re looking for experiences.

As the legal cannabis industry continues to mature, cannabis tourism is opening the door for consumers to connect with cultivation, education, culture, and community in entirely new ways.

And for Michigan Marijuana Tours, this is only the beginning.
